OpenText RightFax for Canon MEAP MFP

The RightFax integration for MEAP is a dynamic, two-way integration with MEAP-enabled Canon imageRUNNER devices. It consolidates fax services on the network and gives users easy access to the extended document distribution features of the fax server from the same Canon devices used daily for printing, scanning, and copying.

Canon MFP Device Fax Server Support

A Canon MFP may have either a Canon or EFI controller installed. MFPs utilizing an EFI controller to provide print and scan functionality operate identical to devices with Canon controllers, with the exception of the imageRUNNER C5058/C5068 MFPs. The imageRUNNER C5058/C5068 MFP is only supported with Canon controllers.

The connector also requires a Printer Kit to be installed on the Canon MFP. Depending on Canon MFPs offered in a particular region, this kit may or may not be a standard offering on a MFP. Customers are encouraged to check with Canon or a Canon Authorized Dealer concerning the inclusion of the Printer Kit on their MFPs.

Scan to Email MFP Device Support

With the RightFax SMTP Connector for MFPs, you can easily fax paper documents using nearly any piece of office equipment equipped with Scan to Email capability. Canon MFPs which are not supported by other connectors, may be supported by the SMTP Connector. Please contact us for more information, details below.

NT-ware uniFLOW Output Manager Authentication Support

With the release of the RightFax Connector for Canon MEAP MFPs v1.2b, OpenText has added authentication support for NT-ware uniFLOW Output Manager. Previous versions of the Fax Connector supported only SSO and Microsoft Windows NT authentication. Customers running uniFLOW Output Manager can authenticate to RightFax at the MFP using a variety of methods including card-based access.

The Canon MFP families that are supported by the 1.0 connector and continue to be supported in the 1.3 connector include:

  • imageRUNNER 2270 / 2870 / 3570 / 4570
  • imageRUNNER 5570 / 6570
  • imageRUNNER C3170
  • imageRUNNER 7086 / 7086B / 7086N / 7095 / 7095P / 7105 / 7105B
  • imageRUNNER C5870 / C6870
  • imageRUNNER C4080 / C4580 / C5180

The Canon MFP families that are supported by the 1.1 and 1.1a connectors and continue to be supported in the 1.3 connector include:

  • imageRUNNER 2880 / 3380
  • imageRUNNER 3025 / 3030 / 3035 / 3045
  • imageRUNNER 5055 / 5065 / 5075
  • imageRUNNER C5185

The Canon MFP families that were supported by the 1.2 connector and continue to be supported in the 1.3 connector include:

  • imageRUNNER 5050
  • imageRUNNER C5058 / C5068 (Note: this model of MFPs with EFI controllers are not supported)
  • imageRUNNER C3480 / C3080 / C2550
  • imageRUNNER 3245 / 3235 / 3230 / 3225

The Canon MFP families that were added in the 1.3 connector include:

  • imageRUNNER C5030 / C5035 / C5045 / C5051
  • imageRUNNER C7065 / C9065 / C9075
  • imageRUNNER Advance 5035 / Advance 7055

  • Scan ScanFront 220 Family
  • Certified with Canon Scanners DR-2080C, DR-7080C, DR-9080C using ISIS or TWAIN drivers
