Appointment ProcessFlows® – Fully Automated, Bi-Directional Patient Notification & Appointment Management for EMIS

Primary Care Trusts and individual GP Practices are now more than aware that missed appointments cost a lot of money – £50 per ‘Did Not Attend’, according to current Dept. of Health estimates – and have a big impact on the numbers of patients seen per day.

ProcessFlows have developed an Enterprise-Class Patient Reminder Solution that is not only self-contained and totally automatic, but is also bi-directional, allowing patients to very easily reply back to a reminder, to cancel or request another date or time, via SMS.

Unlike other solutions, Appointment ProcessFlows works independently of NHS Mail, the future of which is now uncertain. In addition and perhaps most importantly, budgeting is made simple. There are no complicated tariffs, our fixed-price solution includes two million free text messages per year (governed by a fair use policy) and there are no hidden costs or extras to take into consideration.

As the ‘icing on the cake’, we also include our Text Message Server Corporate SMS Solution, for two-way text message integration with existing email systems.

Full integration with EMIS (Web, LV and PCS versions) means that training is kept to a minimum and the process is incredibly simple. Once ‘signed up’ for SMS reminders, based on customisable rules the patient will be sent an automated reminder at a given period before the appointment, which they can then reply to, to cancel or request another time/day. This incoming request automatically clears the appointment in the EMIS system and then alerts the person responsible for appointment booking. Once a new appointment has then been made, the patient’s incoming SMS can be replied to, with the updated time/date.

The system can also be used for ad-hoc messaging, such as notifications of opening time changes, seasonal campaigns, emergency notifications and so on.

Finally, full reporting and audit capabilities allow total control at PCT level and all messages are encrypted and sent securely.
